Ability for users to rename themselves

Don't know how feasible this would be security-wise (would definitely need more limitations than renamings done by mods/admins), but this would help reduce the number of rename requests we've been constantly having.

Fwiw it never really bothers me renaming folks, there usually isn't a whole lot, especially compared to certain, redundant, moderation issues that need to be addressed.

Perhaps some kind of baked in feature to the website visible from admin panel? User needs to be signed in and reenter email associated with acct then can shoot out a request that's either ignored. Could just as easily be linked to a google doc or form or something i guess tbh

Your website idea (sending a rename request to staff on the website) sounds like a good alternative.
